One of the highest arch bridges across the famous Yellow River, most of the height of the Qijia Huanghe Bridge is hidden beneath 100 meters of the Liujiaxia reservoir. The concrete filled steel tubular span is 180 meters with the arch rising 36 meters.
The bridge is part of a new 109 national 2-lane road that will make it easier to travel along the corridor from Linxia to Yongjing and then to Lanzhou, the largest city in Gansu Province. Also on this route along the south edge of the reservoir is the beautiful Liujiaxia suspension bridge with a span of 536 meters.
The Liujiaxia Dam is 147 meters high and 840 meters long.
Liujiaxia City just downstream of the dam.
