The highest railway bridge in the world upon its opening in 1905, the Victoria Falls arch bridge became famous for its proximity to the falls. The bridge is unique for having road and rail lines as well as pedestrians sharing the narrow deck. The parabolic arch spans 513 feet (156.5 mtrs) and rises 420 feet (128 mtrs) above the Zambezi River. Designed by G. S. Hobson and constructed by the Cleveland Bridge & Engineering Company, it was completed in 14 months. The bridge crosses between Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) and Zambia.
Bungee jumping is available every day of the year and drops guests 360 feet (111 mtrs) down into the gorge. For more thrills, there is also a gorge swing, cable slide and rappelling.
