Wushan Shennv Yangtze River Bridge is the second major crossing of the Yangtze River for the city of Wushan after the 460 meter span Yangtze arch bridge opened in 2005. The 1,523 meter long Shennv Bridge crossing consists of the largest cable stayed mountain bridge ever built with a main span of 898 meters. The split steel box deck is supported by single pole towers that will be 365 and 350 meters tall making the north tower the second tallest bridge structure on earth after the Nanpanjiang Bridge Puzhehei in Yunnan Province.
The main span configuration is 4x60+66+898+66+4x60 meters. The renders below are for a previous design that was located further west and had a main span of 1,019 meters.
The bridge was named Shennv or Goddess after the most famous peak in the Wuxia 3 Gorges region.
