Yellow River Three Gorges Bridge is the world's longest half span suspension bridge with a tower to anchor length of 510 meters. The Yellow River crossing is the main structure on the 6-lane Jixin Expressway between Jiyuan and Xin'an in Henan Province. The central tower is 109 meters tall.
The unique design also incorporates the world's largest rotary saddle which incorporates 3 separate underground saddles on the north slope with a more conventional anchor on the south side. The two rotary side saddles are 24 meters apart while the clear distance between the three saddles is 14 meters.
A number of designs were studied including cable stayed and arch bridges.
Located just a few kilometers to the north is the beautiful Huanghe Sanxia Glass Footbridge.
