Barbantiño Viaduct
Viaducto de Barbantiño
Fontao, Galicia, Spain
(328) feet high / (100) meters high
607 foot span / 185 meter span
2009

With three massive prestressed concrete beam spans of 607 feet (185 mtrs), the Viaducto de Barbantiño on the AG-53 Autostrada is one of Spain’s largest viaducts. Add in two side spans of 410 feet (125 mtrs) and you have a total length of 2,641 feet (805 mtrs). Higher up in the Barbantiño valley and also in the 328 foot (100 mtr) height range is the high speed railway viaduct on the line between Santiago de Compostela and Ourense with spans of 220 feet (67 mtrs) and a maximum pier height of 320 feet (97.5 mtrs).
