Although not as spectacular as the world's highest cable stayed bridge across the Beipanjiang at Duge, the Wang'an Expressway Beipanjiang Bridge is still an impressive structure with 190.4 meter towers supporting a central span configuration of 150+328+150 meters.

Much of the bridge height is hidden beneath a reservoir created by the completion of a downstream dam in 2008. Just north of the Wang'an expressway is a high beam bridge that carries the older route S312 over the Bei Pan River. Before the construction of the dam, route S312 crossed a multi-arch bridge that was removed in 2008. Located at kilometer 20, the Wang'an Expressway connects the cities of Anlong and Wangmo in remote southwestern Guizhou Province.
