Dahe Bridge
大河特大桥
Liupanshui, Guizhou, China
755 feet high / 230 meters high
4,101 foot span / 1,250 meter span
2020

Dahe Bridge is the second longest span high level bridge in the world with a tower to tower distance of 1,250 meters. The giant crossing is also the longest span bridge ever built in Guizhou Province, a region of China with several other colossal suspension bridges that include Qingshuihe, Balinghe, Beipanjiang Hukun, Chishuihe Chajiaotan, Malinghe Three and Dimuhe Bridges.

Several types of bridge were studied including a giant Millau-like cable stayed viaduct and a multi-span beam bridge. The Dahe Bridge west tower will also be the second tallest suspension bridge tower in the world after Japan's Akashi Kaikyo Bridge with a foundation to tower top difference of 270 meters. Also unique to the design of Dahe Bridge are the large 120 meter span cantilevered beam bridges on either side of the towers instead of more common simple beam drop-in spans. This was done on two other suspension bridges in China including the Sunxihe and Fuling Qingcaobei Yangtze River Bridges. The main cable will have a span to rise ratio of 9.5:1 with a cable rise of 130.5 meters.
