Hidden on the backside of the massive Glen Canyon Dam in northern Arizona, this simple steel girder access bridge connects the backside of the dam to the north rim of the Colorado river canyon. Completed midway through the dam’s construction period in 1964, the height of the bridge varies depending on the level of Lake Powell. When the reservoir is full, the bridge is only about 20 feet (6 meters) high.
