Hongguang Bridge opened in 2020 as the highest interchange bridge in the world. The forest of towering piers connects the older Yuanmo Expressway with the newer Yuanman Expressway that runs along the south side of the Red River gorge. The Hongguang Bridge has piers 86.91 meters tall supporting spans of 40 meters.

Crossing over the interchange is the spectacular Nanxihe Railway Bridge with its massive 125 meter tall piers. Just to the north of the Hongguang Bridge is the towering Yuanjiang Railway Bridge with piers as tall as 154 meters supporting a main span of 249 meters on the Yuxi to Mohan Railway.
