When completed, the Hongxi Bridge will become the highest bridge in eastern China and the highest extradosed bridge in the world with a deck approximately 230 meters high. Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces are home to most of eastern China's highest spans. The tallest tower will be 177 meters tall. The crossing is part of an expressway that will connect Wencheng and Taishun cities.

The extradosed main span will be the longest in China at 265 meters.

The Wencheng to Taishun expressway will have several other high bridges including the Nanshan, Nanpu and Gexi Bridges among others.

The second render of the bridge was for a prestressed beam span of around 200 meters.
