Jijing Bridge is on the 46.3 kilometer north-south Fengxi expressway G6911 (奉溪高速公路) that links the remote city of Wuxi with the city of Fengjie and the G42 expressway that travels east-west along the north side of the 3 Gorges region of the Yangtze River. The expressway will eventually extend north into Hubei and Shaanxi Province.

A typical beam crossing with a curving alignment, the 607 meter long Jijing Bridge consists of two parallel bridges, each with two main spans of 150 meters on piers as high as 104 meters. Also on the Fengxi expressway is the 110 meter high Fengxi Bridge with a rare single tower pier supporting two beam spans of 120 meters wedged between 2 mountain tunnels.
