The largest of two long span suspension bridges constructed to cross the deep reservoir formed by the Baihetan Dam, the Jindong Jinshajiang Bridge is a truss stiffened suspension span that connects Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces along a remote stretch of the great Jinshajiang (Yangtze River).

The 4-lane structure has a span configuration of 180+730+100 meters.

Although not as long, the Hulukou Jinshajiang suspension bridge is over much deeper water being located just 37 kilometers from the Baihetan Dam.
