Lösterbachtal Bridge
Lösterbachtalbrücke
Nonnweiler, Saarland, Germany
(328) feet high / (100) meters high
(148) foot span / (45) meter span
1974

Stretching nearly half a mile in length and 328 feet (100 mtrs) in height, the Losterbachtalbrücke was one of Germany’s taller viaducts at the time of its completion in 1974. The highest bridge on the A1 motorway, the 4-lane deck is supported by closely spaced struts that form a grille-like mesh on the underside of the bridge. The piers are also somewhat closely spaced with spans of approximately 148 feet (45 mtrs).
