Macal Bridge
Puente Macal
Pilcuan, Narino, Colombia
197 feet high / 60 meters high
(361) foot span / (110) meter span
2021

Macal Bridge is one of 6 major cantilevered beam spans that were built as part of an upgrade to the older Rumichaca – Pasto highway in the mountainous Narino region of Colombia. The project started in 2015 with the final bridges opening in 2021. The main construction contractor was Consorcio SH.

The Porvenir Bridge is 214 meters long and 21.8 meters wide. Images show the inside span may have been extended in length from the original plan view.

The 4 other high beam spans on the route include Boquerón, Magdalena, Porvenir and Guaitara Bridges. Although not as high, the Sapuyes Bridge is also large with a main span of 100 meters.
