The highest bridge on the highway between Bogota and Villavicencio, Colombia, the Viaducto Pipiral opened in 2002. The bridge arcs across a steep mountainside creek with 3 equal sized prestressed concrete beam spans of 410 feet (125 mtrs). The 2-lane roadway is supported on a single cell concrete box girder with vertical walls. Also on the Bogota-Villavicencio highway is the 295 foot (90 mtr) high Puente Chirajara.
