Perched high above Guiyang City's vast Qianlingshan Park, the Shengquan No.1 Bridge is one of the most visible railway bridges in all of Guizhou Province. The viaduct is one of 3 back-to-back beam bridges that make a dramatic arc across the west side of the tree-filled river valley.

The bridge carries the northern end of the high speed Guiyang-Guangzhou Railway through the heart of Guiyang City. The bridge has a span configuration of 40 +6×80 +40 meters plus approach spans with the highest pier reaching 89 meters. The 798 meter long structure curves on a radius as small as 600 meters. More than 64,000 cubic meters of concrete were poured with another 6,000 tons of reinforcing steel.
