Designed in 1930 by Switzerland’s famous bridge designer, A. Sarrasin, the Visp or Stalden bridge crosses a magnificent gorge in the Valais region of Switzerland. In 1959 this bridge was bypassed by the Killerhof Bridge with a wider roadway. The original Stalden Bridge is still open to pedestrians.

Three years later Sarrasin would create an even higher and more spectacular concrete arch bridge over the Trient gorge in nearby Gueuroz.
