Construction is scheduled to start in 2009 on the Viaducto Tenoya beam bridge on the island of Gran Canaria. It will be the third bridge on the Spanish island to exceed 328 feet (100 mtrs) in height. The first two were the Cuesta da Silva Viaduct and the Guiniguada Viaduct. Puente Tenoya will be part of a 2.5 mile (4 km) inland spur from the main GC-2 highway that encircles the coastal perimeter of the island. The three main spans will measure 407 feet (124 mtrs) with two side spans of 256 feet (78 mtrs). The deck will soar 364 feet (111 mtrs) above the creek.
