Stretching 2,935 kilometers across central China, the G56 expressway is loaded with high bridges, all of them prestressed beam spans. The greatest concentration of them are in Guizhou Province beginning in the east with the Xiaojiang Bridge just north of Tongren City.

The large viaduct crosses not only the Xiao River but also local road S201 and a railway line. The 842 meter long structure has a span configuration of 5x30 +85+3x160+85 +30 meters atop piers as tall as 105 meters.
