Located midway between Wanxian and Liangping, the Zhangjiaba Bridge is one of three back-to-back high beam bridges on the G42 expressway. Like the similar Guanjiagou and Ganningshuiku located just a few meters further to the west, Zhangjiaba has spans of 40 meters supported on several tall piers that rise 100 meters from the canyon floor.

The Guanjiagou, Ganningshuiku and Zhangjiaba Bridges all cross the upper end of a reservoir.
