An extension from the main S31 expressway was opened in 2005 allowing quicker access to the many hotels and resorts that line the edges of the man-made Xin'anjiang reservoir. <br /> <br /> The 4-lane S32 expressway spur crosses a now submerged creek via a 1.34 kilometer viaduct with a 252 meter long CFST arch in the center. Once the arch was closed, concrete was pumped into the main rib tubes from the bottom up. Once hardened, the concrete solidifies and stiffens the arch, improving the compressive strength of the entire structure.
