Studies were made for higher crossings including this 300+ meter high monster suspension bridge that would have had a colossal main span of 1,800 meters. One of the towers would have been the tallest bridge structure on earth at 495 meters.

Another Beipanjiang Zhenfeng Bridge proposal was for a 200 meter high crossing with spans of 250 meters and piers as tall as 160 meters.
