Located approximately 30 kilometers west of Jiyuan on the S28 expressway, the Dadianhe Bridge is one of the highest on a stretch of road that is mostly flat. The S28 roughly follows along the north valley of the famous Yellow River as it cuts an east-west corridor between the cities of Jiyuan and Xinxiang.

The 738 meter long structure has a central span configuration of 66+120+66 meters plus approach spans of 30 meters.
