The second highest railway arch bridge in China, the Luobuxi bridge spans a deep chasm on the incredible Yi-Wan Railway line that will run between Yichang not too far from the 3 Gorges Dam to Wanxian on the Yangtze River in Chongqing municipality. To support the double track rail lines, the arch bridge has two large concrete ribs that are 41 feet (12.5 mtrs) apart at the base and 18 feet (5.5 mtrs) apart at the crown. The 584 foot (178 mtr) span has a rise of 130 feet (40 mtrs).

Luobuxi is one of the highest bridges on the new line that roughly parallels the amazing new West Hurongxi Highway, home of the highest suspension and arch bridges in the world. Filled with tunnels and bridges of every kind and size, the Yi-Wan railway line is due to open in 2010.
