Alla Luna Footbridge
Ponte alla Luna
Sasso di Castalda, Potenza, Italy
335 feet high / 102 meters high
(984) foot span / (300) meter span
2017

Italy's largest public footbridge span, the Alla Luna Footbridge opened in 2017 as the most spectacular tourist attraction within the small mountain town of Sasso di Castalda. The "Bridge of the Moon" theme celebrates Italian rocket engineer Rocco Petrone who worked on the famous Saturn 5 rocket that sent many American astronauts to the moon.

The hiking route includes the 300 meter long Alla Luna Footbridge as well as the shorter 93 meter long Petracca (Prova) Footbridge that is approximately 30 meters high. At the south end of the Alla Luna span there is a
