The highest and largest frame bridge in North America, the spectacular Fernando Espinoza bridge carries a 4-lane highway across the deep ravine of the Santiago River east of Guadalajara - Mexico’s second largest city. Constructed with a high line, the struts were built outward in pieces from their foundations, held back by cable stays. The center span pieces followed to create an arch effect before the side span pieces were lowered into place last. Espinoza was one of Mexico’s greatest civil engineers.

Bungee jumping is sometimes available from the bridge.
