One of the highest and longest span bridges along the mountainous G4216 Yanjiang Expressway in Sichuan, the Heishuihe suspension bridge crosses a major tributary of the Jinshajiang River. The 550 meter main span soars more than 100 meters above the reservoir that was formed behind the 277 meter tall Baihetan Dam.

The south tower of the Heishuihe Bridge is 140 meters tall and the north tower is 103 meters tall. The span configuration of the main cables is 138+550+131 meters with the south side being a tunnel anchor and the north side being a gravity anchor.
