Constructed in 1969, the super sized Siegtal bridge was one of Germany’s earliest 100 meter high viaducts. Arcing 3,445 feet (1,050 mtrs) above the small city of Eiserfeld, the bridge consists of two steel box girders 17.5 feet (5.36 mtrs) deep. The southbound box girder was constructed first with a truss traveler before the northbound box girder was then constructed next to it.
