Sunxihe is the largest bridge on the JiangXi S21 Expressway from Jiangjin, Chongqng to Xishui, Guizhou. The red colored towers and truss span contrast nicely with the curvy green river canyon. The main cable span has a configuration of 215+660+268 meters supported on towers as tall as 190.65 meters. The distance from the bottom of the truss to the top of the tower foundation is 117 meters, making the east side a unique "suspension-bridge-on-stilts". There are only 6 other suspension bridges in the world with tower piers that exceed 100 meters below deck including Yangbaoshan, Qingshuihe, Honghe Bridge Jianyuan, Dahe, Malinghe Fenglin and Tiger Leaping Railway.
Also a rarity is the T-beam approach span configuration on the east side composed on a 90+90 meter beam span supported on a pier 95 meters tall. The smaller approach spans are all 40 meters. The depth of the Warren truss is 5.5 meters. The hangars are all spaced at intervals of 8 meters. The deck has a slope of 1.35%.
