Volturno Bridge is one of the few high Italian Bridges to be completed in the 1990s. Despite its construction some 30 years after the many great beam bridges of the early 1960s Autostradas, the Volturno Bridge retains the Italian tradition of having independent belly spans suspended between cantilevered pier tops.

The Volturno Bridge overlooks the Cerro al Volturno castle at the start of the SS652.
