Stretching 2,935 kilometers across central China, the G56 Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway is loaded with high bridges, many of them prestressed beam spans. The greatest concentration of them are in Guizhou Province beginning in the east with the Xiaojiang Bridge just north of Tongren City.

The large viaduct crosses not only the Xiao River but also local road S201 and a railway line. The 842 meter long structure has a span configuration of 5x30 +85+3x160+85 +30 meters atop piers as tall as 102 meters.

The main spans are composed of single-cell box beams 12.25 meters wide and 6.5 meters wide at the bottom. The beam is 10 meters deep over the pier and 3.2 meters deep at midspan. The roadway is 11.25 meters wide.
