Loushuihe Bridge is the highest span on the Hefeng East Expressway. The steel through-arch bridge is one of two high crossings that overlook the city of Hefeng with the giant Yunnanzhuang Bridge located 6 kilometers to the east. The expressway eventually joins with the G69 Expressway in Yuyangguanzhen, Hubei.
Yunnanzhuang Bridge is the third of China's great arch-beam hybrid spans that was first developed for the Beipanjiang Bridge Shuipan in the mountains west of Liupanshui, Guizhou and the Ganxi Bridge also in Guizhou.
The Loushui River is one of the longest and deepest in Hubei Province with many deep and spectacular gorges. Just upstream of the Loushuihe Expressway crossing is the 2-lane 149 meter high Tiaoyukan Bridge.
