Okuoi Rainbow Railway Bridge is one of two major railway bridges along the Oigawa narrow gauge railway route in Ikawa Prefecture. Crossing high above Sesso Lake, the Okuoi Rainbow Railway Bridge is a 474 meter long Warren-deck truss structure divided by the Okuōikojō Station. The Oigawa narrow gauge railway route has become one of Japan's most popular tourist attractions with guests passing across or under several spectacular bridges.
Also on the Oigawa route is the 71 meter high Sekinosawa Railway Bridge, once Japan's highest crossing. The 114 meter long single track structure consists of a truss-arch with a span of 84 meters.
The Okuizumi and Shinsesso 2-lane road bridges also span 70 meters above the Oi River with both steel and concrete arch ribs.
The original Oigawa narrow gauge railway was bypassed and raised onto the Okuoi Rainbow Railway Bridge over the deep waters of the Sesso reservoir.
