Huatupo Railway Bridge
Zhaotong, Yunnan, China
(394) feet high / (120) meters high
341 foot span / 104 meter span
2001
Located on the Neijiang-Kunming Railway line, the Huatupo is one of Western China’s higher railway bridges. Two 341 foot (104 mtr) prestressed concrete beam spans are supported on three massive conical shaped piers that rise as high as 361 feet (110 mtrs). The 8th pier stands next to the Sancha River which is the dividing line between Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces. The nearby Lizigou bridge is on the same rail line and is of similar size and height.
